The Healthpoint System

Today, the field of professional healthcare is larger and more complex than ever before. With new prescription drugs hitting the market everyday, new and elaborate exercise and diet programs, and a variety of supplemental health and over the counter medications, it has become difficult for the average consumer to stay on top of all their health care options. That's why we offer the Healthpoint Counseling System.

The Healthpoint Counseling System is a computer system designed to provide healthcare professionals as well as consumers with easily accessible information on disease state management concerns. Included on the Healthpoint are instructional videos for many topics that explain medical conditions and procedures in an appealing audiovisual format. The system’s extensive database, which is presented in either a kiosk format or a desktop model, contains valuable information on over 3000 topics, including:

• Medical conditions and procedures
• Information on prescription and over the counter medications
• Diet recommendations
• Herbs and supplements
• Sports and sports nutrition

The information is provided in a user-friendly touch screen environment that can be navigated in two ways. The user can utilize the main screen "topic" selections, or the easy to use SEARCH function.

Main Screen

When utilizing the main screen, a number of topic groups are displayed. Touching any of these buttons causes a sub-menu to appear with opportunities to select a more defined category. Within each defined category, additional topics are easily accessible.

Performing a Search

The real power of the Healthpoint system is its ability to search the entire database for specific information that addresses the individual user's specific healthcare concerns.

For instance, when the user accesses the search function, a typewriter screen appears which can be changed from alphabetical to typewriter format by a simple touch of the screen. The user can then select (type) the first few letters of any topic they wish to search. For instance, if one were seeking information on ASTHMA, all they need to do is type in ASTH and hit the search button. All of the topics beginning with ASTH will now appear in alphabetical order. One simple touch of the screen and the information is now displayed.

Some topics may have a video attachment. To show the video, one only needs to touch the play button and this short informational segment will appear. If the user chooses, they can even pause the segment and adjust the volume to their personal preference.

Displaying Topics

Each of the healthcare topics is displayed in an easy to read format. Additionally, hyperlinks are provided to navigate the user to additional useful information on their specific health concerns. For instance, if one were looking at the asthma topic, a hyperlink is displayed to help in locating additional information on bronchitis.

Recommendations and hyperlinks are also displayed to give additional information on over the counter medications that have shown to provide potential relief for the user's medical conditions.

All of the information displayed on the screen can be easily printed for users to take with them. The Health point system can be easily customized for those users with multiple locations. Such modifications could include:

• Tailor-made screens and logos

• Local site content
• Or most any use you can imagine

Quarterly Update

The Healthpoint Counseling System is updated quarterly and is sent out to participating locations across the country. The Update package contains a CD-ROM that upgrades the Healthpoint Counseling System with new & updated health topics, features and instructional videos, developed by the Healthpoint editorial and art teams.

Also included is the Healthpoint Newsletter, which outlines the new features of each Update, and the Ailment Brochure, which contains a full list of all the topics available on the Healthpoint.
